Despidiendo Elder Crandall
Saying farewell to Elder Crandall
Elder Read said that he was about to receive a new companion. They had had a good week during which they found a lot of new investigators and, also, they received a golden Referral from the Mission Office. It was from a less active who has 11 year old twins who want to be baptised.
Elder Crandall is going to Málaga and he is to be replaced by Elder Dean, who's been out for about 6 months, and Elder Read will be his third companion. He's from Utah - as usual!! Elder Read wonders whether the Lord is trying to tell him something!! Anyway, they'll see baptisms together.
Sunday 22nd, Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th were set aside for Elder Crandall's farewells, which were difficult for him. Missionaries come to love the people they serve with.
Elder Read says his knee is fine and he's got used to his new shoes. The less active sister and her twins were at Church on Sunday and the branch president has asked the elders to request a car to help them get around the branch. However, Elder Read doesn't hold out much hope as last time -n in another area - the answer was no. But they'll wait and see.
Elder Read has bought a Union Flag and also a Stars and Stripes for his companion, which he'll give him on 4th July.
Once again, Elder Read has been playing with the branch mission leader's cockatiel. These are great photos and I can quite understand why he wants one -or perhaps another budgie - when her comes home. This time the bird virtually had a bath in Elder Crandell's glass and gave him - the elder - a shower! We look forward to seeing the video that Elder Read took in due course.
Here's the new diary for the new transfer. What a difference!!
Monday 30th June
One of the twins wants to be baptised! And in the sea.
Elder Dean
Elder Crandall has now been replaced by Elder Dean, who has been out for just seven months. As he's from Utah he knows missionaries Elder Read has got to know on his mission and he's great; they teach well together. On Sunday they taught a Bolivian family and at Church Elder Read had to translate for an English couple who are there for the summer. He really enjoyed doing the translating. Perhaps it's an option for him after university.
All the missionaries in the District except Elder Read have been out for under a year.
On Friday they have a conference with the Mission President.
Lunes 23 Junio
Vamos a ver bautismos juntos.
Me gustó.
